Stealth Marketing….

A successful marketing campaign relies on many things happening in a cohesive manner.  The more tightly focused a campaign is the higher probability of quantifiable results. How so?

First…I must clarify that I am merely speaking from personal experiences and over 10 years of trial and error with many marketing methods.

Often times, we hear the word “Product Launch” and we automatically think Frenzy, Hype, Geez, Not Again, etc. What type of feelings do those words invoke on you?  Do you consider them pleasant or ehhh….not so much?   What feeling do you get when you here the words “Product Roll Out”?    How about positioning?

Each one presents a different “feeling” to different people.   Some people get all jazzed up when they hear the word “Product Launch” and others want to run as far away as they can.

It is for these reasons that the proper thought and psychological perspectives need to be factored into a marketing campaign that is strategically positioning itself …through a preliminary product roll out …for a future product launch……what?

Psychological conditioning is a powerful marketing skill.   Psychological conditioning is one of the Armed Forces most valuable assets.  Entire ‘Psychological Warfare” campaigns are launched.   Mass “Leaflet Mailings”, soldier playing cards that have their enemies faces on them, broadcast messaging, political  influences and media manipulation.

The fact is….Billions are spent on psychological conditioning.    It is the manner in which you present the message, at what frequency and from what perspective.  Some refer to this marketing strategy as “Stealth Marketing”.    In some cases….an entire population can be manipulated via a well crafted, well organized and highly focused psychological based marketing campaign.

For me, stealth marketing is the fundamental component and catalyst that turns a great campaign into a viral exponential growth campaign.  The key to effective stealth marketing is to blend in with the intended audience.   While infiltrating via standard communications and interactions you collect data.    The objective is to network with influential people within that sector.  (And for the sake of keeping this short we will assume a “Sector” is a Sector of the market.    This would include social media platforms such as Facebook.   Microblogging networks such as Twitter…forums such as the Warrior Forum..etc.)

Within each sector you identify those people who seem to have the most clout.  It can be anything.  The most twitter followers, the most voted, the most popular etc.  A successful stealth marketer understands the importance of time and planning.  Therefore no plan is ever rushed.  When all of the ingredients are ripe and the campaign architecture, infrastructure and  framework are “Green Light Go” then we unleash the process.

Stealth marketing requires the knowledge of SEO, effective linking, mass multi-media distribution, keyword identification, site architecture, basic coding and effective communication skills.  It’s like being in the Navy Seals.  Stealth marketers can make highly targeted social media strikes in multiple niche markets that produce lucrative results…..and… have the end user thanking thanking them  for it in the end.

Sure we understand this theory but it is important to live by it.  Understand the perspective of your intended prospect and ensure that the message you are sending provides the correct information. Next infiltrate multiple perspectives.

‘Under the Radar” marketing is widely used by marketing professionals.  Some are truly successful other use the term as a cloak of perception.  If the message is effectively delivered then there will be minimal if any questions.  We hear “you can’t ignore the gorilla standing in the middle of the room” (some may have another form of animal…please substitute with your favorite :-) …this is true with marketing.  Identify the questions that could be asked and make sure the message answers them.

Stealth marketing requires systematically developing a Cyber infrastructure of marketing assets, collateral and people across multiple platforms. These platforms will serve a message distribution points in the future through influencing the perspective follower / subscriber to perform a specific action in a manner that is non threatening  but powerful.

The platform network ,when orchestrated in unison with other platforms, can broadcast a message at an exponential rate and virtually take over a specific niche for a specified period.

If you have been on Twitter recently you will notice everyone tweeting people to follow with the Hashtag #FollowFriday.  This is a prime example of stealth marketing.  There is surely more happening with this new trend than just following cool people.

This was the viral ingredient. There was and is a deeper strategy that is evolving and hitting targeted milestones.  I will cover more on that in another article.

This is One Platform for one sector.  TwitPWR is owned by Joel Comm.  There are currently over 5,000 people using this Twitter URL Shortner (another viral product that incorporated stealth marketing methodologies).  My profile used to be a bit higher up but honestly that does not really concern me.  What does concern me is keeping the #1 URL Position. The Twitter Effect Has Remained in the first place position for over 4 weeks. This is stealth marketing at work.
